Here at Pixum you have 9 different methods to upload your photos. You can either use your web browser or our software (FTP / ePrint / iPhoto). For Mac, PC or mobile phone, Internet Explorer or Firefox - Pixum offers it all!

Flash upload
What is it?
In more than 98 percent of all browsers there is a Flash function installed, which enables a comfortable transfer of large amounts of photos from your hard drive to Pixum. You do not have to download or install a separate program to use this. This works in all browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc.
What is it for?
To quickly upload a few photos - not a problem with Flash.

HTML upload
What is it?
With our HTML upload you can select and upload single files. Because of its functionality in almost all browsers and operating systems this is a reliable process.

For uploading single photos.
Advantages:
Independent from system and browser. Fast, reliable and easy for single photos.

ActiveX upload
What is it?
This process was specially designed for Internet Explorer. The use of ActiveX has to be enabled in the settings. Then selecting and uploading photos, even in groups, becomes as easy as ever.
What is it for?
For single photos, several photos or entire folders with photos.

Fast and reliable, specially created for Internet Explorer.

Java upload
What is it?
Java is mainly used in Firefox and Opera. To use this so called applets this has to be activated in the settings of the browser. It also needs the installation of a plug-in, which is often already installed together with the browser. Java programs are often running without further adjustments on various computers and operating systems.

For uploading single photos as well as entire folders.

ePrint upload
What is it?
A windows freeware tool from Pixum. This allows you to comfortably view an almost unlimited number of images, to select them and to transfer them safely to the Pixum servers - the most comfortable upload method for uploading a large number of images to Pixum.
Another advantage: You can order the images as prints or on photo gifts in the same step.
What is it for?
For uploading many photos or entire folders with photos. Naturally also possible for single photos.
Advantages:
Simply upload your photos and order directly. Preparation of the upload and the selection of photos on your computer can be done without an internet connection.

FTP upload
What is it?
For advanced users, we can offer the FTP upload. With an FTP program (many available as freeware), you can transfer especially large numbers of images quickly and smoothly. Additional advantage: As you don't use your password but your PIN, you can offer friends & family the option to upload photos to your account without granting them full access (e.g. they won't have the option to view all uploaded photos).

What is it for?
Platform independent: especially handy for Linux- and Mac-users. For uploading many photos.
Advantages:
Very fast. For all operating systems. Uploading with drag and drop, as easy as it is on your own PC.

Email upload
How does it work?
With Pixum you also have the option to send us an email with your photos and to upload them automatically in your account. Perfect for your mobile phone.
If you wish to use this option, please send an email to: upload@pixum.com
Please make sure to mention in the subject of your email:
[Pixum username]:(semicolon!)[4-digit PIN code]
For example: Werner:1234
Your personal, 4-digit PIN code can be found in the "My Pixum" / "My account" / "My personal information" / "Upload PIN". There you can also change your PIN.
What is it for?
For single photos. Ideal for your mobile phone.
Advantages:
Fast and easy. Even friends without a Pixum account can upload their photos. Ideal for your mobile phone.
Supported systems:
Windows, Mac, Linux, mobile phone, iPhone (if you have a "JailBreak" installed on your iPhone, you can use the program "SendPics" (can be found in the installer). With this you can also send photos per email, preferably in original size) and many other mobile phones.

iPhoto-Plugin upload
What is it?
Select photos and upload them directly from iPhoto to Pixum. The software is currently still a Beta-version.
What is it for?
For Mac user: Upload single or multiple photos directly from iPhoto.

Alternative upload: CD-order
How does it work?
If you wish to order a large amount of photos, you can also send us your files on a CD/DVD. These photos will be available to you in your inbox after your order. This is available for orders with a minimal value of 50 Euro / £35.
What is it for?
For many photos and large orders. Or for people without a fast DSL Internet connection.
Advantages:
Photos are available online after your order.
